The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced a planned system interruption that will temporarily affect access to its online services as it prepares for a major upgrade to the eLogbook system.

In its notice, NTSA stated that the system will experience intermittent unavailability from Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 4:00 pm to Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 8:00 am, a window set aside for technical migration and system enhancement.

According to the authority, the downtime is necessary to support a smooth transition to the eLogbook system, which is designed to improve efficiency in transport data management and strengthen digital service delivery.

“This is to inform all our stakeholders that the NTSA system will experience intermittent unavailability to facilitate a smooth transition to the eLogbook,” NTSA stated.

Moreover, the authority noted that the upgrade will help strengthen system stability and improve service reliability once fully implemented.

NTSA Continues Wider Digital Transformation Agenda

In addition, the interruption forms part of NTSA’s broader digital transformation efforts that have already seen the rollout of platforms such as the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS).

Through these systems, users have been able to access key services including vehicle registration, ownership transfers, inspection bookings and driving licence applications online, significantly reducing manual processes and improving efficiency.

Improved Monitoring and Compliance

Looking ahead, the eLogbook system is expected to further enhance the monitoring of commercial and public service vehicles.

Consequently, it will improve compliance tracking, strengthen data accuracy, and support real-time fleet management across the transport sector.

As a result, NTSA believes the upgrade will contribute to improved road safety enforcement and greater accountability in vehicle operations.

Meanwhile, the authority acknowledged that users may face temporary disruptions during the maintenance period.

NTSA therefore advised stakeholders to complete urgent transactions in advance.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to offer quality services to you,” NTSA added.

Finally, users requiring assistance have been advised to contact: info@ntsa.go.ke or visit the nearest NTSA office for support.
