Zinco Mabati Factory Limited has terminated its contract with brand ambassador MC Adek Tatu, days after detectives arrested him over alleged inflammatory social media posts.
The company announced the decision in a public statement issued on June 3, saying the termination takes effect immediately.
MC Adek Tatu, whose real name is David Onyango Elgon, was arrested by detectives on May 30 after allegedly publishing offensive and inflammatory content on his social media accounts.
In its statement, Zinco Mabati said the views and actions linked to the influencer do not reflect the company’s values or position.
“While the matter remains under investigation, Zinco Mabati wishes to make it clear that the views, actions, and statements associated with the individual are entirely personal and do not represent the values or position of our company,” the company said.
The roofing manufacturer added that it serves customers from all parts of the country and remains committed to treating all Kenyans equally.
“As a company serving customers nationwide, we are dedicated to delivering quality products and services to all Kenyans regardless of their tribe, ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation,” the statement read.

DCI Arrested Influencer Over Viral Posts
The termination comes a few days after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of MC Adek Tatu in Mombasa County.
According to the DCI, detectives tracked the suspect to a residence at Queen’s Court in Utange, where they arrested him following a manhunt.
The agency said the suspect was behind insensitive and inflammatory social media posts that went viral and sparked widespread public outrage.
“The offensive content, which was published on the suspect’s Facebook account (MC Adek Tatu), has since gone viral across various social media platforms, threatening public order and peace,” the DCI said.
