Wildlife and Nature
- Nairobi National Park-It is just a short drive from the city.
The Park offers a safari experience with opportunities to see various wild animals like lions, elephants, rhinos, zebras in their natural habitat.
It is an amazing experience, and one would take good pictures of the animals and love the park.
You can visit the park at any time of the day.
Adults pay Ksh 430 while children pay Ksh 215.
For non-residents, the fees are as follows: adults pay Ksh5555 while children pay Ksh2842
2. Giraffe Centre -The best time to visit is in the morning hours before it becomes crowded.
Visitors can also take a short walk to the sanctuary forest just outside the giraffe centre when it is closed.
Get to experience the chirping of birds, jumpy monkeys and just the serenity.
At the giraffe centre, it’s a petting zoo for the giraffes, and it’s mainly recognized because of the famous, stunning Giraffe Manor.
Get up close with these magnificent creatures firsthand and see how huge they really are.
It is located in Lang’ata, just 20 km from the CBD.
They charge Ksh400 and Ksh200 for adults and children who are citizens.
However, the charges are Ksh1500 and Ksh750 for non-resident adults and children, respectively.
3. Karura Forest– It has forest trails, waterfalls, and caves where one can explore.
There are so many activities that take place here, for example, horse riding, nature walks, morning and evening runs, and bicycle riding.
Karura Forest offers a serene
environment far from the city noise.
The forest is located in Kiambu Road, just next to the DCI Headquarters.
Entrance fee for adults is Ksh200 and for children Ksh100.
Bicycle riding costs up to Ksh500 per hour.

4. Ngong Hills-Perfect for hiking, picnics with family and a group of friends.

5. Nairobi Arboretum -Perfect for weekend hangouts, dates, and picnics.

It is located in the Kilimani area adjacent to the State House.
The entrance fee is as follows:
Kenyan adults Ksh242 and Children Ksh63.
The residents’ fee is Ksh479 for adults and Ksh121 for children.
Non-resident adults pay Ksh716, and Children Ksh179.
6.Uhuru Park-It is centrally located in Nairobi.
Uhuru Park offers recreational activities like skating, people can jog around, boat riding in the artificial lake, and children also have their playing grounds where there are swings and other games.
The Park offers seating areas, where people can go for picnics and even get to admire the view of the park and the city skyline.
It does not require any entrance fee only an ID or Passport for security Purposes.

- Nairobi Malls– Malls like Westgate and Village Market offer different recreational activities within the city.
You can go bowling in the Village Market and the Sarit Centre.
Malls provide a fun way to spend the weekend and time in the city, and there are also other great options, such as the Ozone Trampoline Park at the Village Market Mall. Entrance fee for citizens is Ksh 200 for adults and Ksh 100 for children, while non-citizens pay Ksh 1200 for adults and Ksh 600 for children.
4. Maasai Market-Perfect for window-shopping, and one can learn how to bargain with local artisans.
The market has unique crafts for decoration, cute Maasai outfits, colourful beadwork, and even traditional arts.
It’s located just within the City next to KICC, and it doesn’t require any fee.
