KeNHA Warns Job Seekers Over Fake Employment Contract Letters

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has warned the public against fake employment contract letters circulating online claiming to represent the Authority.

In a notice dated July 29, KeNHA clarified that the fake documents did not originate from the Authority and urged job seekers to verify the authenticity of any employment-related communication before taking any action.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to alert members of the public that fraudsters are circulating fake employment contract letters falsely claiming to have been issued by the Authority,” the notice stated.

KeNHA Cautions Job Seekers Over Fraudulent Employment Letters

KeNHA stated that all employment and contract award letters are issued only to successful applicants through the Authority’s official communication channels.

As a result, the Authority cautioned the public against relying on unofficial letters, emails or other employment communications that claim to originate from KeNHA.

It added that anyone who receives suspicious recruitment documents should contact the Authority directly to verify whether the communication is genuine before taking any further action.

“KeNHA wishes to clarify that these documents are fraudulent and did not originate from the Authority. Employment and contract award letters are issued only to successful applicants through KeNHA’s official communication channels. Members of the public are advised to treat any suspicious employment-related communication with caution and verify its authenticity directly with the Authority before taking any action,” read part of the notice.

Job Seekers Advised Not to Pay Recruitment Fees

KeNHA further warned job seekers against making payments in exchange for employment opportunities or recruitment services, noting that such demands are a common tactic used by fraudsters.

Additionally, the authority urged the public to disregard any suspicious employment letters, offers or contracts purporting to come from the Authority.

It further advised individuals to report suspected fraud or attempted scams to the relevant law enforcement agencies or directly to KeNHA to support ongoing efforts to combat employment-related fraud.

Furthermore, the Authority said it remains committed to maintaining transparency and integrity throughout its recruitment processes.
