Woman Dies After Alleged Assault at Family Home In Naivasha

A young woman from Naivasha has died after an alleged assault at her family home, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death as her mother remains in custody and her stepfather is reportedly being looked for.

The woman, who is identified as Virginia Wambui, is said to have been going through an emotionally difficult period following the death of her best friend the previous week.

According to reports, she went out on Sunday night and later returned home while drunk after she was out drinking alcohol at night.

Additionally, reports circulating about the incident allege that an altercation broke out after she arrived home, during which she was allegedly assaulted by her mother and stepfather.

What Happened

She reportedly lost consciousness during the incident, and her parents were unaware and left her to sleep outside.

In addition, it is further alleged that she was later moved outside the family’s gate, where she remained and slept overnight.

According to the reports, Wambui’s mother found her outside the following morning and initially believed she was still asleep because of the alcohol.

She reportedly poured cold water on her before realizing she was unresponsive and that she was not just sleeping.

She was then rushed to hospital, where medical personnel reportedly confirmed that she had died.

The incident has sparked widespread public attention, with many netizens expressing shock over the circumstances described by the family and calling for a thorough investigation into what happened.

Police have since taken Wambui’s mother into custody as investigations continue, while her stepfather is reportedly being looked for by police in connection with the case.

Wambui had reportedly been mourning the death of her best friend, whose burial is scheduled for tomorrow.
