Mombasa County Announces 3,000 Casual Jobs: How to Apply

Mombasa County has announced 3,000 temporary casual jobs for youth, women and persons with disabilities under a programme targeting flood prevention, drainage restoration and environmental response.
Successful applicants will be engaged for three months and deployed to the transport and environment departments.
The recruitment is being handled through the Mombasa County Public Service Board, which has an official careers and vacancies page listing the casual worker opportunity.
Mombasa County Lists 3,000 Casual Worker Positions
The available positions are for casual workers and general labourers, with 1,500 slots assigned to the transport department and another 1,500 reserved for environment-related work.
Those selected will serve on a three-month casual basis, with onboarding expected to take place in phases depending on operational requirements and approved deployment arrangements.

The recruitment forms part of the Mombasa Yangu Programme and is linked to the County Flood Prevention, Drainage Restoration and Environmental Rapid Response Programme.
Mombasa County has encouraged youth, women, persons living with disabilities, members of marginalised communities and minority groups to submit applications.
The Public Service Board is responsible for appointments within the county public service and maintains an online recruitment system through which applicants can apply for advertised positions.
How to Apply for Mombasa County Casual Jobs
Applicants are required to submit their employment details through the Mombasa County Public Service Board recruitment portal before the September 22, 2026, deadline.
Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, a copy of their National Identity Card or passport and any other supporting documents relevant to their applications.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and required to produce original identification and academic certificates during the recruitment process.

The County Government has also warned applicants against using intermediaries, stating that it does not engage agents or charge fees for recruitment services. Canvassing in connection with the recruitment will result in disqualification.
Applications can be submitted through the official Mombasa County PSB recruitment portal, which allows candidates to apply for advertised positions, track applications and manage their profiles.
