The public fallout between Victor Agwaro and his former wife, Margaret Akoth Ogolla, also known as Rita, has taken a fresh turn after Victor demanded that his former in-laws refund him Ksh 1.3 million before he officially considers their marriage dissolved.
The latest development comes months after the pair’s highly publicized separation, which attracted widespread attention on social media following allegations involving Maxwell Odongo, also known as Professa Ochieng Odongo.
Those allegations remain unverified, and no criminal charges have been brought against Maxwell.
Rita Returns Dowry Cows
According to updates shared online, Rita travelled to Mbita on July 10 to return all the cows her parents had received as bride price during her marriage to Victor.
The move was widely interpreted as part of the traditional process of formally ending the marriage.
Reports circulating on social media also claimed that the step clears the way for Rita to officially marry Professa Ochieng Odongo under customary arrangements.

Victor Demands Ksh 1.3 Million
However, Victor says returning the livestock alone is not enough.
In an update shared on July 13, he insisted that his former in-laws must also refund the money he paid during the marriage process.
According to Victor, his demands include:
- Ksh 1 million from his former father-in-law
- Ksh 300,000 from his former mother-in-law
Victor maintained that only after the full Ksh 1.3 million is refunded, in addition to the returned cows, will he officially close the chapter on the marriage.
