Former CJ Maraga Announces Sister’s Death, Pays Emotional Tribute at 107

Former Chief Justice David Maraga mourns his sister in a heartfelt tribute on X, describing her as a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In a post on X, Maraga says he announces this with a heavy heart but also with endless gratitude because his sister, Sabina Kemunto, lived a nice life that they celebrate.
“It is with heavy hearts, but endless gratitude for a life richly lived, that we share the passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Sabina Kemunto Otiambo,” he said.
Additionally, he announced the burial date for his late sister, saying she will be buried on October 9 at her home in Nyairobi village in Kericho County.

“We will gather to celebrate her remarkable life and lay her to rest on Friday, October 9th, at her home in Nyairobi Village, Kipkelion (Kericho County). The funeral service will take place at the home, followed immediately by her interment,” he announced.
Further, he thanked the people who have stood with their family in this difficult time while saying that his sister had a life well lived up to 107 years.

“Thank you for your warm prayers, love, and support as our family remembers a truly special matriarch who lived to a remarkable age of 107 years,” said Maraga.
The former Chief Justice described the deceased as a special member of the family, highlighting the significant age she attained during her lifetime.
Condolences
Her death has brought together members of the family as they prepare to celebrate her life and bid her farewell.
The funeral service and burial will be held at her home in Nyairobi Village, Kipkelion, where family members, relatives, friends and other mourners are expected to gather for the same.
