Fresh Details Emerge Days After Rosemary Koech’s Burial

Fresh details have emerged following the burial of former KCB executive Rosemary Chemutai Koech, with her sister publicly responding to remarks allegedly made by Rosemary’s husband after the highly publicised burial dispute.
Rosemary, who died by suicide in August, was laid to rest at her parents’ home in Chepseon, Kericho County, after her husband, Kevin Migwe Kimwatu, withdrew a court application that had sought to stop the burial.
In a social media post shared after the burial, Rosemary’s sister, Judy Koech, accused Rosemary’s spouse of allegedly continuing to attack the family despite the burial having concluded.
She insisted that the family wanted peace in their time of mourning their loved one, saying that she was buried on land that belonged to her.
Alleged Insults By Kimwatu
In the social media post, Judy said that Kimwatu was allegedly calling her and her family names while also accusing Rosemary of being a drunk while she was alive.
“They refuse to let the matter rest. They have tried pushing their narrative that you were a drunk,” she said.

Judy claimed that she is shameless, and if Kimwatu continues with the insults she will eventually tell the world the truth about everything.
“My sister, your tormentors don’t realize I’m shameless- your tormentors don’t know I have never been a good girl; your tormentors don’t know I’m not one to toe the line. Let them continue, and I will share to the world the truth,” she said.
Screenshots Of The Matter
Additionally, she also shared screenshots of Rosemary’s spouse allegedly insulting her, telling her that they also held a mass to remember his wife and that he had closure.
Further, Judy claimed that Rosemary’s property had been registered under their father’s name, insisting that the husband should not expect to benefit from any of the family’s wealth.
“All her wealth is in her father’s name. You cannot have it even though you scream the loudest insults. All her wealth is in her father’s name. Cease and desist,” Judy said.
Their clan had earlier explained that Rosemary was buried on her own piece of land after consultations with her parents and elders.

The family also said the decision to conduct the burial at night was guided by Kalenjin cultural traditions observed in deaths of that nature.
However, this latest exchange between Judy and the late Rosemary’s husband has once again ignited debate among netizens, but Kimwatu has not yet responded to the allegations.
