“He Called Me Crying”: Junet Claims Babu Owino Wants Back to ODM Amid Linda Mwananchi Wrangles

Suna East Member of Parliament and National Assembly Minority Leader Junet Mohamed has claimed that there is a dispute in Linda Mwananchi, and now former members want to go back to ODM.

Speaking during a gathering in Migori County, Junet alleged that Embakasi MP Babu Owino reached out to him crying, saying he wants to go back to ODM following internal disputes in Linda Mwananchi.

“Babu Owino alinipigia simu jana analia kama mtoto wa miaka tatu anataka kurudi ODM. Caleb Amisi amenipigia simu pia akasema akiongea familia nyingi zitaharibika pale Linda Mwananchi,” Junet said.

Junet went on to publicly urge Babu to return to ODM, saying the party would support his political ambitions, including his reported interest in vying for the Nairobi governorship in the 2027 General Election.

Junet Calls On Babu

“Babu, please come back home to ODM. Let us build the party together so that we can help you if you want to become the governor,” he said.

Additionally, Junet said that MP Saboti constituency Caleb Amisi also called him and told him that if he decides to talk, a lot of families will have trouble, and he also urged him to go back to ODM.

“Caleb Amisi amenipigia simu jana pia, anasema akiongea familia mingi itaharibika, sijui nani anaharibu familia huko Linda Mwananchi,” Junet said.

In addition, Caleb Amisi has called on Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino to go back to being tribe less so that politics can work.

“Before Natembea, Jack Wamboka, Osotsi and Orengo, this thing was working well. It is not late; we need to go back there. We can not afford to lose this war of our generation. All past three liberation won. We can not be the only generation that lost. We must go back to tribe less,” Amisi said.

These remarks come amid growing speculation over divisions within the Linda Mwananchi movement, particularly over its political direction and preparations for the 2027 elections.

Furthermore, the claims also come after Babu Owino’s recent public statement dismissing reports of a fallout with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

Babu said they were pursuing different political ambitions and announced that he would skip some Linda Mwananchi rallies to focus on his Nairobi gubernatorial campaign.
