Safaricom Issues Fresh Update on Fuliza Limits

Safaricom has issued a fresh update on customers’ Fuliza limits, saying the limits are usually determined by how often one uses the service.

Posting on its social media page, Safaricom said the Fuliza limit is determined by repayment history and how often customers use its services.

“Please note that your limit is determined based on your usage of our services and repayment history. Continue using our services regularly and making timely repayments to increase the likelihood of your limit being increased. However, refresh your limit every 30 days by dialling *334#, selecting 00, and then choosing ‘Refresh My Limit,’” Safaricom said.

The clarification came after a customer complained on the company’s social media page that their Fuliza limit had not increased despite paying back borrowed amounts on time.

How To Improve Chances Of Fuliza

According to the telecommunications firm, customers can improve their chances of receiving a higher limit by using Safaricom services regularly and repaying Fuliza, Okoa Jahazi and other eligible loans on time.

Safaricom also reminded its customers that they can request a review of their Fuliza limit once every 30 days through the M-PESA menu.

To request a review, customers are advised to dial *334#, select the Fuliza M-PESA option by choosing 00, and then select “Refresh My Limit.”

However, the company noted that submitting a request does not automatically guarantee an increase, as each account is reassessed using the existing eligibility criteria.

Fuliza Eligibility

The review process considers several factors, including M-PESA transaction activity, repayment behaviour, and other credit-related assessments carried out by its partners.

Fuliza is an overdraft facility available to eligible M-PESA customers, allowing them to complete transactions even when they have insufficient funds in their wallets. The service is offered in partnership with NCBA Bank and KCB Bank.

Safaricom has consistently maintained that Fuliza limits are reviewed periodically and that customers cannot use third-party websites or unofficial platforms to increase their Fuliza limits.

Instead, any review is conducted through the official M-PESA channels and the automated assessment process.
