UDA has opened a wide lead over its closest rivals in party popularity, with 32 per cent of Kenyans backing the ruling party, according to a new Politrack Africa survey released on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

The Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) emerged second with 11.7 per cent, narrowly ahead of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which recorded 10.6 per cent.

Jubilee came in at 6.9 per cent, followed by Wiper at 5.6 per cent, while 9.1 per cent of respondents declined to identify the party they support.

The survey also found UDA ahead in every region covered, although the margin differed considerably.

Its strongest support was recorded in the North and South Rift at 53.2 per cent, followed by Northern Kenya at 44.1 per cent and the Maa Region at 36.8 per cent.

UDA Leads Across Regional Poll

UDA’s support remained above 30 per cent in Mt. Kenya East and Western, where it registered 34.7 per cent and 31.1 per cent respectively.

At the Coast, the party attracted 29.1 per cent, while its support stood at 28.7 per cent among respondents in the Mt. Kenya Diaspora.

In Southeastern, UDA recorded 27 per cent, followed by 25.8 per cent in Luo Nyanza and 25.5 per cent in Kisii Nyanza.

DCP’s strongest showing came in Luo Nyanza, where it recorded 32.3 per cent, while ODM performed best in Mt. Kenya West with 29 per cent.

In Kisii Nyanza, another party category recorded 33 per cent, placing it above UDA’s 25.5 per cent in that region.

Politrack Survey Covered 20,419 Respondents

Politrack said it interviewed 20,419 respondents between September 15 and 25 using a text-based technology platform that invited sampled users to answer questions at their convenience.

“Sampling was structured at county level so that every county contributed a scientifically selected and analytically usable sample,” the research firm said.

The national results were weighted against each county’s share of the 22,102,532 registered voters used as the survey’s weighting base.

It said the approach allowed it to produce both county-specific findings and national estimates.

“Applying County weights allows results to be aggregated from the county strata to the national level,” the research team said.

The survey reported a 95 per cent confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus three per cent.
