Woman Nabbed After Jailbreak Tools Found Hidden in Food Meant for 3 Suspects

An 18-year-old woman was arrested at Ruai Police Station after officers allegedly found pliers and a pair of shears concealed inside a plate of food she had brought for three remanded suspects.

The suspect arrived at the station carrying rice and meat, claiming she wanted to deliver the meal to three friends being held at the facility. Officers inspected the food before it could be handed over to the suspects.

Their search uncovered the tools hidden beneath the meal, raising suspicion that they were intended to help the detainees break out of custody.

She was subsequently placed under arrest as detectives began investigating how the items were obtained and whether other people were involved in the suspected escape plan.

The discovery prevented the tools from reaching the cells, where they could potentially have been used to interfere with the station’s security.

Three Suspects Held Over Robbery and Gang Rape Allegations

The three detainees are being held at Ruai Police Station over allegations involving robbery with violence and gang rape.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects allegedly operated an anonymous TikTok account that was used to lure young women into meetings.

Investigators said the women were allegedly attacked during the encounters before their valuables were taken.

The suspects remain in custody as authorities pursue the allegations against them.

Police are now examining whether the food delivery was connected to an organised attempt to help the trio escape from lawful custody.

Her arrest is expected to form part of that investigation as officers establish the circumstances surrounding the concealed items and identify anyone else who may have been involved.

The DCI has urged members of the public to report information concerning attempts to facilitate escapes from police custody.

DCI Warns Against Helping Suspects Escape

The DCI warned that aiding or attempting to aid a person to escape from lawful custody is a criminal offence.

Authorities said individuals found facilitating such acts would face legal action.

The agency also encouraged members of the public to provide information that could assist investigators in ongoing criminal cases.

The woman remains under investigation following her arrest at the police station, while detectives continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged delivery of the concealed tools.
