CCTV footage that shows the last few hours of city lawyer Mbobu Kyalo’s life before he was shot dead by unidentified attackers has been acquired by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to reports, the video shows his last known movements from his office to the Sagret Hotel on Milimani Road.

Detectives said, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., Kyalo was spotted at a meeting in the hotel.

He then went to lunch with a number of people who are now on the investigation’s list of persons of interest.

Kyalo left the hotel at around 1:45 p.m. and went back to his office. Later, a different CCTV footage showed his car leaving the office at approximately 5:00 p.m. and starting to head home in

Surveillance and data shows his journey was tracked down along Wabera Street, and later City Hall way, then Parliament road.

He then proceeded to Uhuru highway where he passed around Nyayo Roundabout and later joined Lang’ata road before finally diverting to Magadi road.

Detectives have vowed to use this evidence for investigations.

Eyewitness Accounts 

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers executed the hit swiftly on a slow-version stretch, then fled via the Galleria Mall area, with nothing stolen from the scene.

DCI have urged witnesses who have any information about Kyalo’s case to report to the nearest police station.

LSK Demands After Kyalo’s Murder 

LSK President, Faith Odhiambo has urged DCI to act swiftly to bring perpetrators of the crime to justice.

“As we make sense of life without this legal giant, the legal profession stands petrified at the dire state of safety for advocates,” Faith Odhiambo said.
