The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has congratulated Dr. Diana Marion on her appointment as Director of Provider and Beneficiary Management at the Social Health Authority (SHA).
In a statement issued on 13th September 2025, the union described Dr. Marion’s appointment as timely and significant in advancing the mission of SHA, which seeks to bridge providers and beneficiaries while promoting efficiency, access, and financial protection in healthcare.
“Congratulations Dr. Diana Marion on your appointment as Director of Provider and Beneficiary Management at SHA. This position sits at the heart of SHA’s mission, bridging providers and beneficiaries while advancing efficiency, access, and financial protection,” the union said.
KMPDU lauded Dr. Marion’s leadership journey, citing her service as Deputy Chair of KMPDU South Rift Branch, Laikipia Representative, and Secretary General of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA).
According to the union, these experiences have equipped her with the insight and credibility to deliver meaningful impact in her new role.
The statement also recognized the efforts of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale in refining frameworks that support the Ministry of Health and strengthen healthcare provision across the country.
“As KMPDU, we welcome appointments guided by efficiency and accountability, because they are key to reinforcing public trust in SHA,” the union added.
SHA Announces New Directors
Dr. Marion was among four directors unveiled by the SHA Board on 12th September 2025 following a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began in July.
Others appointed include Ms. Golda Larissa Akolo (Director, Benefits and Claims Management), Mr. Mohamed Alio Ibrahim (Director, Corporate Services), and Mr. Jonathan Leisen (Director, Funds & Finance Management).
The SHA Board said the new team brings invaluable experience that will be crucial in steering the authority to achieve its mandate of providing financial risk protection for Kenyan residents and ensuring access to quality healthcare.
