Police officers in Kajiado County have arrested five suspects and repossessed some government stores which included security equipments.
Officers from Ongata Rongai Police Station conducted an operation on September 17, 2025, when they were patrolling near PEFA church.
They arrested two middle-aged men who were acting suspiciously. One suspect was searched and found possessing a pair of handcuffs hidden in his jacket pocket.
The second suspect tried to flee from the hands of police officers, but he was pounced on after a short brief chase.
Police officers conducted a deep interrogation to the duo and claimed that they have obtained those items from an individual whom they know where he stays.
The officers used this information and acted upon it immediately and they proceeded to Kware area where they conducted a thorough search of the premises.
The operation led to discovery of new items that was four spent cartridges and police baton.
Another three suspects were found at the premises where stolen security items was discovered were also arrested raising the suspect number to five.
All five suspect were placed in custody pending processing and arraignment, while the recovered items have been secured as evidence at the same facility.
DCI said the operation demonstrates the real importance of patrols in detecting crime and recovering lost items.
The National Police Service reiterated its unwavering commitment to combating crime.
