Museum of Illusions Nairobi

Entry fee is as follows: Adults -Ksh1500, students -Ksh1100 and Children -Ksh900 from age 4-12

Wildlife and Nature

1.Nairobi National Park-It is just but a short drive from the city.

The Park offers a safari experience with opportunities to see various wild animals like lions, elephants, rhinos,zebras in their natural habitat.

It is an amazing experience and one would take good pictures of the animals and love the park.

You can visit the park anytime of the day.

Adults pay Ksh430 while children pay children pay Ksh215.

For non-residents the fee are as follows: adults pay Ksh5555 while children pay Ksh 2842

2.Giraffe Centre -The best time to visit is morning hours before it becomes crowded.

Visitors can also take a short walk to the sanctuary forest just outside the giraffe centre when it is closed.

Get to experience the chirping of birds ,jumpy monkeys and just the serenity.

At the giraffe centre, it’s a petting zoo for the giraffes and it’s majorly recognized because of the famous stunning Giraffe Manor.

Get up close with these magnificent creatures first hand and see how huge they really are.

It is located in Lang’ata just 20 km from CBD.

They charge Ksh400 and Ksh200 for adults and children who are citizens.

However, the charges are Ksh1500 and Ksh750 for non-residents adults and children respectively.

3.Karura Forest– It has forest trails, waterfalls and caves where one can explore.

There are so many activities that take place here example; horse riding,nature walks, morning and evening runs, bicycle riding.

Karura Forest offers a serene
environment far from the city noise.

The forest is located in Kiambu Road just next to the DCI Headquarters.

Entrance fee for adults is Ksh200 and children Ksh100.

Bicycle riding costs up to Ksh500 per hour.

4.Ngong Hills-Perfect for hiking, picnics with family and a group of friends.

You will find the popular windmills mostly seen in pictures.

At the viewpoint,one can take good pictures and experience sunset.

Entrance fee is Ksh200 for everyone and it’s open from 6 am-5 pm everyday.

It also offers accomodation services and the following are charges for different activities:

Hiking – Ksh200-600
Zip lining -Ksh1000

5.Nairobi Arboretum -Perfect for weekend hangouts,dates, picnics.

Since it’s affordable,so many people get to visit it ,some go to meditate, watch birds and spot playful monkeys.

It is located at Kilimani area adjacent to State House.

The entrance fee is as follows:

Kenyan adults Ksh242 and Children Ksh63.

Residents fee is Ksh479 for adults and Ksh121 for children.

Non-residents adults pay Ksh716 and Children Ksh179.

6.Uhuru Park-It is centrally located in Nairobi.

Uhuru Park offers recreational activities like skating, people can jog around,boat riding in the artificial lake and children also have their playing grounds where there are swings and other games.

The Park offers seating areas , people can go for picnics and even get to admire the view of the park and the city skyline.

It does not require any entrance fee only an ID or Passport for security Purposes.

Fun and Entertainment

1.Nairobi Malls– Malls like Westgate and Village market offer different recreational activities within the city.

You can go bowling in Village Market and Sarit Centre.

Malls provide fun way to spend the weekend and time in the city and there are also other great options;The Ozone Trampoline Park at the Village market mall . These games vary different prices depending on days, sometimes bowling will go upto Ksh1000 per person and when there’s promotion it’s upto Ksh850.

2.KICC Building -Rooftop viewing;It gives the 360° view of Nairobi.

You can see different parks,the CBD and even the green spaces.

Perfect for photography enthusiasts.

Entrance fee for adults is Ksh200 and children Ksh100.

3.Burudani Adventure Park– It is a recreational centre where you can engage in activities like ziplining,nature walks, high rope courses and more fun hangouts with a group of friends or family .

The Park is located in Tigoni Limuru.It offers team building packages with prices varying by group size example ksh 3499 per person for a group of 12

Museum and Cultural Experiences

1.Nairobi National Museum -It showcases Kenya’s rich,cultural and natural heritage through diverse exhibits like fossils and cultural artifacts.

You can also explore the snake park just within the museum and walk through the botanical gardens outside .

2.National Archives -It is known as the landmark in the CBD  and a historical building that’s worth visiting.

You will find the old monuments, exhibits like fossils and cultural artifacts.

The entrance fee is Ksh50 for everyone.

3.Karen Blixen Museum– Explore the ethnic African Culture and it’s rich heritage.

Located at the foot of Ngong Hills, the Museum houses memoirs related to the popular Danish Author Karen Blixen.

Entrance fee for citizens is Ksh200 for adults and Ksh100 for children while non-citizens pay ksh 1200 for adults and ksh 600 for children.

4.Maasai Market-Perfect for window-shopping and one can learn how to bargain with local artisans.

The market has unique crafts for decoration,cute maasai outfit, colourful beadwork and Even traditional arts.

It’s located just within the City next to KICC and it doesn’t require any fee.
