Police in Kisii County are investigating a shocking incident in which a man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute believed to have been triggered by jealousy.

According to police reports, the couple had spent the evening together at a nearby shopping centre before heading home, where a heated argument erupted.

The suspect reportedly told investigators that the quarrel turned violent, but claimed that the two later reconciled and went to bed.

However, when the man woke up the next morning, he found his wife lying motionless beside him.

Neighbours Concern

Alarmed neighbours, who said they had heard a loud commotion from the couple’s house during the night, described the woman as quiet and friendly, expressing disbelief over the tragedy.

Police officers who arrived at the scene discovered the woman’s body lying on the bed with visible injuries, suggesting she had been assaulted before her death.

The suspect was immediately arrested, and the body was moved to Nyamache Sub-County Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Detectives have since launched a full investigation to determine the extent of the assault and the exact cause of death.

Authorities said the suspect could face either murder or manslaughter charges depending on the outcome of the investigation.
