Milicent Ayuwa popularly known as Dem Wa Facebook has revealed how she expected a very long term working relationship with comedian and content creator Oga Obinna.
Dem Wa Facebook said until now, she does not know what really ended their show with Obinna.
“I did not understand what happened, hadi wa leo sijawahi jua what happened ata mimi nakuanga surprised, I do not know what happened with the show,” she said.
She also added that parting ways with Obinna was like her dream was cut short since she anticipated working long with Obinna.
Dem Wa Facebook said Obinna did not inform her before going silent regarding their show.
“I knew we would work for a long time, na nilikua napenda the show sielewangi ni nini iliingilia kati hadi kwa sasa,” Dem wa Facebook stated.
Dem Wa Facebook said as usual every Monday, Obinna’a PA normally reached him out for a shoot.
However, she revealed that the PA did not call her and that is why Obinna’s crew went silent on her.
Dem Wa Facebook said she assumed that her contract with Obinna show ended and maybe Obinna wanted to sign in new celebrities.
“For us, huwa tunarecord every Monday, so on Monday huwa najua PA wake atanitext aniambie tunarecord uko wapi ndo wanipick ,i did not get the message until today,” She revealed.
During the interview with Martin Dean, Obinna disclosed how his partnership with Dem Wa Facebook started.
Obinna said he saw potential on Dem Wa Facebook after hosting her on his show something that motivated him and decided to create a long-term collaboration.
However, Obinna wanted to pair her with another content creator known as Cassypool but he failed to commit to the project.
After failing, Obinna decided to work together with Dem Wa Facebook on the “The Weekly Show.”
Dem Wa Facebook became outstanding of their collaboration due to her relatability and popularity among fans.
The rumours about their relationship shaking terribly began circulating after Obinna missed Dem Wa Facebook’s birthday party.
After the birthday, the duo posted cryptic messages on social media that sparked further reactions.
Although Dem Wa Facebook did not mentioned him directly, but the video she posted was about dissatisfaction about managing expectations.
“Kuna wenye nilialika hawakuja… Lakini with or without them tulifanya tu event vizuri (There are those I invited who didn’t come… But with or without them, we still had a good event),” the Pulse Influencer Awards 2024 winner said.
Fans were quick to assume the message was directed at Oga Obinna, given his absence from her celebration.
Hours after Dem Wa Facebook’s post, Obinna also took storm on social media by posting quote that left fans thinking hard.
“Do you know why a ship sinks? It’s not because of the water around it. It’s because of the water that gets inside it. Yeah. If you know, you know,” he said.
Although Obinna didn’t name anyone, fans interpreted his words as a veiled response to Dem Wa Facebook’s video.
However, in his post he didn’t mentioned Dem Wa Facebook directly, but fans alleged to be the response to Dem Wa Facebook’s video.
Obinna revealed how people were discouraging Dem Wa Facebook from working with him claiming she is wasting her career.
“Kuna watu walianza kuongea mbaya… They started telling her to stop walking with me coz nimeisha (Some people began speaking negatively, saying I’m no longer relevant),” he said.
He also dismissed accusations that he was exploiting Dem Wa Facebook.
He also said her manager and Dem Wa Facebook decided to stick with partnership and would rather just recognize opportunities Obinna had provided.
