The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has published a seven-day weather outlook for the period between 7th to October 13th 2025.
In the Forecast published on October 6, Kenya Met said most parts of the country are likely to receive rainfall.
Kenya Met said rainfall is expected mostly in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, the South-eastern lowlands and North-eastern Kenya.
Daytime maximum average temperatures above 30°C are likely to be experienced in the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya.
During night-time Kenya Met said minimum average temperatures are expected to be less than 10°C in some parts of the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Central Rift Valley and in the vicinity of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
This region comprises of counties include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Narok.
In the morning, rains are likely to be experienced over few places.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur in the afternoon over several places during the first half of the forecast period and reducing to few places thereafter.
Nights are expected to be partly cloudy though showers may occur over few places.
Turkana and Samburu Counties will experience sunny intervals during the day.
Kenya Met said nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
This region sums up counties like Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi.
Morning rains will likely to occur.
According to Kenya Met, in the afternoon showers are likely to occur over few places while nights are expected to be partly cloudy though showers may occur over few places.
This region has five counties that is Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo.
During the day sunny intervals are expected to occur.
Nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
However, Kenya Met said morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers may occur over few places.
Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties as well as the inland parts of Tana-River are counties found in this region.
Kenya Met stated that sunny intervals are expected during the day while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
However, there is a possibility of morning rains as well as afternoon and night showers occurring over few places.
Coast
Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties as well as the coastal parts of Tana-River are coastal counties.
During the morning showers are likely to occur occasionally spreading over few places.
During the afternoon and night showers will continue to be experienced.
