A Kenyan senator has been appointed to the World Bank–International Monetary Fund (IMF) Parliamentary Network’s Governance Board.
In an official communication to the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, Speaker Amason Jeffah Kingi congratulated Senator Tabitha Mutinda on her appointment and called upon her colleagues to offer her their full support as she embarks on this new international leadership role.
The Board of Governance is entrusted with setting the strategic direction and providing oversight for the activities of the Parliamentary Network. Mutinda will represent the East Africa Region on the Board for the 2025–2027 term.
The Parliamentary Network is an independent, non-governmental organisation that offers legislators from around the world a platform to engage with the World Bank Group and the IMF on matters of transparency, accountability and development effectiveness.
Among its key responsibilities, the Network facilitates dialogue between parliamentarians, civil society and international financial institutions.
It focuses on promoting sound governance in the management of public resources, advancing poverty reduction strategies and supporting policies that stimulate inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
