The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a nationwide manhunt for a 28-year-old man accused of brutally murdering his wife and two young daughters in Samburu County.
The suspect, identified as Wycliffe Otieno Odero, remains at large nearly two weeks after the heinous crime that shocked residents of Yare area in Samburu Central Sub-County.
According to a statement released by the DCI, Odero is wanted in connection with the incident which happened on September 27, 2025, where he allegedly killed his wife, Ann Njeri Atheera, and their two daughters, Natalia Nyambura, aged six, and Tyra Jones, aged four.
The suspect is said to have attacked his family in their rented house located along the Maralal–Nyahururu road.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Odero arrived home intoxicated on the fateful night before launching a violent assault on his wife.
In a fit of rage, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times, killing her instantly.
He then turned his anger toward his two sleeping daughters, slitting their throats before escaping under the cover of darkness.
Neighbors who later discovered the horrific scene reported the matter to the police, prompting detectives from Samburu Central to begin an intensive search for the suspect.
Despite several leads and extensive tracking operations, authorities say Odero has continued to evade arrest.

The DCI has now appealed to members of the public to share any information that may assist in locating the fugitive.
“If you have any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect, report to the nearest police station or through #FichuaKwaDCI,” read part of the DCI’s statement.

The agency has assured the public that all reports will be handled with strict confidentiality.
“Usiogope!” the DCI urged, emphasizing that citizens should not fear providing crucial tips that could help bring justice to the bereaved family.
Authorities have pledged to continue the manhunt until Odero is captured and brought to face justice for what police describe as one of the most disturbing domestic murder cases in recent months.
