Samoget village in Bomet East Sub-county has been thrown into mourning following the death of a 33-year old man.
The disturbing incident involved a 25-year old woman whom allegedly hacked her boyfriend to death over a mobile phone dispute.
Bomet East Sub-County Police Commander Michael Singa said the suspect identified as Faith Cherono, allegedly went to her boyfriend’s house to demand the return of a mobile phone she claimed belonged to her.
Upon arrival, an argument is said to have erupted between the two which was later resolved during the day.
According to witnesses, the couple was seen walking together heading towards Mau Forest area shortly afterwards.
Police investigations reveals that when they arrived at Mau Forest, Cherono allegedly attacked her boyfriend Emanuel Kiprono.
She fatally striked Kiprono on the back of the head with a sword.

What Happened after the incident
After this shocking incident, suspect fled the scene and crossed into Narok County, where she made up decision to surrender at Tendwet Police Station.
Police officers recovered only Kiprono’s body that has a bore of deep cut at the back of the head from the crime scene.
His body was taken to Tenwerk Hospital Mortuary for autopsy examination.
Police have said the suspect is still held in custody waiting to be arraigned in court as investigations into the fatal incident continue.
