KANU Youth Congress has distanced themselves from the newly found pact between President William Ruto and the party’s Chairman Gideon Moi.
In a public notice dated on October 14, 2025, the group said they fully dissociate from the Gideon-Ruto pact.
The youth said that they stand with the party’s principles that cites for accountability, transparency, respect of law and promotion of the rule of law.
“Our values as the youth and the party at large are founded on promotion of accountability and transparency, respect for human rights and the promotion of the rule of law. These values continue to guide our participation in leadership and governance of the Country,” read part of notice.
Ruto had said he looked for Gideon to help him pull Kenya from third world country status.
The duo met at State House where they agreed to work together and a possiblity of KANU party joining the broad-based government.

The Congress said the government should shift it’s focus on serving the interests of Kenyans rather than looking for Coalitions.
It added that no partnership whatsoever can save the regime that is about to collapse by failing to uphold the rule of law and constitution mandate.
“Our stand therefore, remains that the government should work to serve the interests of the people and no partnership or coalition agreement whatsoever can save a regime that goes against the constitutional lines of governance and protection of the rule of law,” read part of the notice.
It stated that their values and ideologies do not match with those of the Kenya Kwanza government.
The Congress condemned abductions, subsequent killings, enforced disappearances, human rights violations, corruption among others are evils.
It called out the government to obey the law, democracy and independence of institutions stating that no agreement can validate the current wrong doings.
The Group demanded the government to be swift in handling delicate crisis affecting the health sector and education system.
KANU youths said these services are essential and the government should make them affordable and available to all citizens.
It added that political class under the umbrella of “broad-based government” is not only a fallacy but also the “kicks of a dying horse.”
KANU Youth said the government system has to work effectively, social services revived, fair ground for employment to jobless youths and industrialization to be prioritized over taxation.
“As the KANU Youth Congress, we call upon the government to stop the hypocrisy and solve the immediate needs of the people. Solely consolidating the political class under the umbrella of “broad based government” is not only a fallacy but also the kicks of a dying horse. We need the system to work. We need social services revived. We need a fair ground for employment to jobless youths in the country. We need industrialization prioritized over taxation,” read part notice.

It also urged youth across the country to get out in large numbers and register as voters ahead of 2027 general elections.
The Group said this will help them tackle ills in the government system that has been there over decades.
“Let our online, physical and digital activism actively translate to a voice of change and progressive leadership. Our vote, our future,” read part notice.
