Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has claimed that there are plans to attack him in the period leading up to the burial of the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

The outspoken legislator made the allegations through a statement on Friday, expressing concern for his safety while calling for calm ahead of the high-profile funeral.

“There are plans to attack me on or before the day of Baba’s burial,” Owino said, referring to the late Raila Odinga by his popular nickname Baba.

“I am aware of the culprits behind the scheme,” he added, suggesting that the plot was politically motivated.
