Ruto Opens Up on Secret Projects He Shared With Raila in Recent Months

President William Ruto revealed the project he discussed with Raila Odinga in the last three months before his death.

Raila died on October 15, 2025, while receiving treatment in India, and he was buried on October 19 at his father’s home in Kang’o ka Jaramogi.

Speaking during Raila Odinga’s burial ceremony, Ruto revealed that they discussed the future of Kenya and how they can move it from third-world status to first-world status.

According to Ruto, they agreed with Raila Odinga to look for Professor Hiroyuki Hino to come to Kenya and look for a plan they can use to get Kenya out of the mess.

Projects William Ruto Agreed With Raila Odinga

Nuclear energy

Ruto stated that there’s a plan to implement nuclear energy in Siaya County in the coming days.

For a country to move forward, it should have a reliable source of energy, and according to Ruto, they agreed on a proposal of generating at least 10,000 megawatts.

Standard-Gauge Railway (SGR) Extension

They agreed to extend SGR across various parts of the country to allow the smooth flow of goods, services, and human movement.

According to the proposal, SGR was to be extended from Naivasha County and pass by Siaya to Malaba.

“We must extend SGR from Naivasha through Siaya to Malaba,” Ruto said.

Dual Carriage

In his speech, Ruto added that they agreed to build a dual carriage to improve traffic flow and safety.

Dual carriage was to start from Rironi through Nakuru and then Eldoret, it was also to be extended to Kericho to Kisumu, and then Malaba.

“Dual carriage way from Rironi through Nakuru through Eldoret to Malaba and also through Kericho to Kisumu to Malaba,” he added.
