The daughter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Winnie Odinga, has hinted at joining Kenyan politics after the death of his father.

Speaking during the burial ceremony in Bondo, Winnie thanked President William Ruto for his support since the death of Raila Odinga.

Winnie, who is a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), said she is ready to “return home,” indirectly hinting at coming back to join local politics.

Besides, she promised to visit all the world leaders they met alongside her father to express her gratitude personally.

“Your Excellency, our people appreciate you for honouring our father. Thank you for standing with us. You should also know that, in case you are wondering, I am ready to come back home,” Winnie Odinga said.

“For all the leaders we visited around the world, I will return personally to say thank you.”

Politicians Slamming Bondo

Winnie also hit out at the politicians who have attacked Raila and his rural Bondo home.

She asked the people of Bondo to stand up and show the world they still have a lion amongst them.

“People have been talking badly about Bondo; let us shame them by letting them know that we have a lion,” she said.
