Kenya Airways and Qatar Airways have announced a new codeshare agreement that will connect passengers to 19 destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, with additional routes planned in the future.

Starting October 26, Qatar Airways passengers can book Kenya Airways-operated flights to eight African destinations via Nairobi, including Accra, Addis Ababa, Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Abidjan and Victoria Falls.

In turn, Kenya Airways customers will be able to connect through Doha to 10 destinations across Asia and the Middle East, including Singapore, Tokyo Narita, Kuala Lumpur, Islamabad, Karachi, Colombo, Bahrain, Muscat, Malé, and Dhaka.

Tickets for the new codeshare flights will be available for purchase beginning October 21.

“This enhancement is a testament of the collaborative efforts which further strengthen our presence in Kenya and the African continent,” said Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori.

“The recent addition of Qatar Airways’ third daily flight to Nairobi also serves as another cornerstone of this partnership.” Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways’ chief commercial and customer officer, called the agreement “a new chapter” in expanding connectivity for travelers between Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

The two airlines said the partnership will also pave the way for future cooperation in areas including cargo, network development, and airport services.
