Suba North Member of Parliament (MP) Millie Odhiambo is grieving the death of her brother-in-law, Reverend Canon John Edward Limo, who died in the United States while watching the live coverage of the burial of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

In an emotional tribute shared on Sunday, Odhiambo disclosed that the late Reverend Limo, who resided in Apple Valley, California, was a husband to her sister Violet Odhiambo Limo.

She has referred to him as a passionate supporter of the late opposition leader and former Prime Minister.

“Death sneaked upon us a few hours ago, and stole my brother-in-law, Reverend, Canon John Edward Limo, spouse to my sister Violet Odhiambo Limo,” Millie wrote on Facebook.

She described her previous visit to the couple a few weeks ago, together with her cousin Jane.

Despite being unwell, Reverend Limo insisted on driving them to and from the airport, a gesture she explained reflected his strength and kindness.

“He has always been such a Baba diehard, and called Ramogi this morning to offer his condolences on Baba’s last journey,” she added.

Millie has exposed that just two days before he died, Reverend Limo informed her that he could not even think of Raila being buried without his presence.

“He was following Baba’s last journey when he took a final bow,” she said.

The MP concluded her tribute with a short, touching message

“I have no words for Violet.”
