The Kenya Meteorological Department (Kenya Met) has issued an alert on cyclone activity, warning of potential impacts on weather patterns and advising the public to stay informed and follow official updates.
In a forecast on Sunday, October 26, Kenya Met said it continues to monitor tropical weather systems over the southwest Indian Ocean.
“A low-pressure system, CHENGE (Residual Depression), is currently located near 8.2°S / 50.2°E, about 500 km north of Madagascar, moving west at 11 km/h,” Kenya Met said.

No other active tropical systems are expected in the southwest Indian Ocean over the next five days.
“KMD will continue to closely monitor the situation and issue updates as necessary. Stay alert, stay informed, and follow official channels for timely updates,” Kenya Met added.
