Prominent Nairobi Lawyer Steve Ogolla has lived much of his personal life in the media, from his glamorous traditional wedding with Cebbie Koks Nyasego, the younger sister of musician and businesswoman Esther Akothe alias Akothee, and his new bride, Ivy Bavolyne, a graceful and educated lady.

Ogolla’s union with Cebbie Koks began spectacularly. The couple celebrated an extravagant traditional wedding on December 28, 2022, in Migori County that was attended by relatives, friends, and celebrities.

Ogolla was reported to have paid a dowry of 30 cows and millions of shillings, which represented deep cultural respect and commitment

However, cracks started showing barely a year later.

At the beginning of 2024, the keen fans realized that Cebbie no longer displayed their wedding photos on her social media profiles and did not use the title of Mrs. Ogolla anymore.

She officially confirmed the split publicly as early as October 2024, when she wrote, “I am healed… You may give me another Luo man.”

Ogolla, maintaining his characteristic calm, later stated that their separation was “neither scandalous nor bitter,” choosing dignity and silence over public drama.

A New Beginning

By mid-2025, Ogolla reappeared in the limelight alongside Ivy Bavolyne, a digital artist and a former Miss Tourism Homa Bay County contestant.

In an interview, he introduced her warmly, saying; And this is my beautiful wife; her name is Ivy. We do pray every morning with her.”

The lawyer described their relationship as one based on faith, love, and family values.

He disclosed that they begin their day with prayer, a routine that, according to him, keeps their relationship grounded and peaceful.

Ogolla further expressed admiration for Ivy’s intellect and education, saying he is proud to have a wife who is both beautiful and highly accomplished.

Ivy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Data Science and Analytics, achievements that Ogolla is meant to be proud of when introducing her.

On her part, Ivy described Ogolla as a loving and devoted man.

“Ogolla is so loving; he loves me, he is prayerful, and we are a family that prays together,” she said.

Building a Home and a Vision

Ogolla also shared his vision of family unity, revealing why he built a beautiful homestead in his home, Sega, Siaya County.

“It is important that family lives in dignity and peace. What we’re building is more than just a home; it is a symbol of unity,” he noted.
