Police in Kisumu County have launched investigations after a 41-year-old man was discovered with his head chopped off in Muhoroni on October 28, 2025.
The horrifying discovery was first made at around 6.40 a.m. when one Wickliff Okoncho, a boda boda rider and security agent, reported that a human head had been spotted in the middle of the road at Kona Mbaya along the Achego-Muhoroni road.
According to a police report filed at Koru Police Station under OB No. 02/28/10/2025 indicated that the officers of Achego Patrol Base were rushing to the scene when they discovered that the head was inside a paper bag and discarded in the middle of the road.
The disturbing sight attracted the attention of the locals who had started flocking to the scene even as the police isolated the scene.
As the officers processed the scene, another report came that a body with no head was lying a few metres off the rented house of the victim in Keiyo Village in Songor Sub-location, Tamu Location.
Victim Described as a Quiet Man
Law enforcers who came to the scene of the second murder confirmed the remains were those of Patrick Okello Amemo, a man from Mawego Village in Homa Bay County.
