The High Court in Nairobi has ordered Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Renson M. Ingonga to produce security analyst Peter Mbijiwe.
Upon hearing of the case on October 28, 2025, the court directed the police IG and DPP to produce the man dead or alive.
Mbijiwe was allegedly abducted 4 years and 5 months ago, and to date, his whereabouts remain unknown.
His mother, Jane Gatwiri, applied compelling the government to immediately and unconditionally set him free.
Justice Martin Muya gave them seven days to produce Mbijiwa in court.
Mbijiwe was a former Kenya Air Force soldier before turning into a security analyst.
When Was Mbijiwa Allegedly Abducted
In June 2021, Mbijiwe was allegedly abducted by men believed to be security officers in an unmarked vehicle, and since that day, he has never heard again.
He was traveling from Nairobi to his home in Meru when he encountered abduction.
After he went missing, his car was found near Tatu City in Kiambu County, leaving behind no trace of him.
However, the case will continue on November 11th.

Evans Ondieki, a family lawyer, filed a petition last month about the alleged arrest and detention of Mbijiwa.
Ondieki stated that there were several occasions where Mbijiwa was receiving death threats at the Central Police Station.
According to Mbijiwa’s mother, as a family, they have searched for him in different police stations, hospitals, prisons, and mortuaries, but they haven’t found him.
