Elwin Ter Horst, a Dutch national who was filmed abusing and spitting at a police officer in Diani police station, Kwale county, has been arrested.

Police in Diani have started the process to deport him after his video of hurling insults at police went viral.

Inside the filmed video, Elwin was seen shouting at officers, and went on gobbing and hawking saliva and mucus at a male police officer in the station.

After realizing he had made a mistake, he asked for forgiveness as he was not in his right state of mind.

Further, he admitted to police officers that he suffers from “psychosis” and that is what made him abuse the police.

“Apologies, I had psychosis,” he asserted.

He even pleaded with the police officers during the arrest to have his medicine and even expressed his desire to remain in Kenya.

He added that he would also like to invest in Kenya and called out all Kenyans to forgive him.

Speaking on October 28th, while identifying himself as ‘Musafa’, he stated that he has not eaten anything nor water for a long period of time.

“I need my medicine… I did not have water and food for a long time,” Horst stated.

Horst was detained at the police station on October 28, in the evening, while he was drunk.
