Police units are departments of security agencies in Tanzania to foster national law, manage disasters, maintain peace, and safeguard Tanzania.
All the police force units operate under the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is headed by the Inspector General of Police.
The Tanzania Police Force (TPF) is the country’s national unit that safeguards life, property, and maintains law and order of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Traffic police officers have the mandate to ensure public safety when on the roads by ensuring traffic rules and regulations are adhered to by all road users.

There are small arms like pistols categorized as semi-automatic pistols, which originated in Belgium, Czechoslovakia, and Canada originality and a machine pistol that originated from the Soviet Union.
Tanzania also has submachine guns.

It was delivered in 2009 from South Africa.
Its originality is India and the US, and was sold via the U.S. military sales program.
