The official Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) X (formerly Twitter) account has been hacked and its handle changed to “StandsX”.
In a statement on October 31, KRA said its @KRACare account has been hacked and warned Kenyans on X to stop engaging with the account or sending personal information.
The Authority has asked the public to treat messages from the account as fake.
“Members of the public are strongly warned not to engage, share personal information, or send money to any messages or posts from this account, as they are fraudulent,” KRA said.
KRA said it has launched urgent efforts in collaboration with X to retrieve and secure the official account.
Meanwhile, customers have been asked to get updates from the KRA Facebook account or via WhatsApp at 0711099999.
“Official updates will be shared through verified KRA communication channels. You can still reach us on Facebook, facebook.com/KRACare, or via WhatsApp 0711099999. Thank you,” KRA said.

The account has zero posts, replies, and media as well.
