The Social Health Authority (SHA) Board has announced the appointment of twenty-three new Assistant Directors.
In a statement, SHA said the significant appointments follow a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on 29th July, 2025.
“This expansion of the senior management team injects a wealth of experience into the Authority’s ranks. These new leaders are crucial for enhancing operational capacity across all Directorates as SHA scales up to achieve its core mandate: providing comprehensive financial risk protection and ensuring quality healthcare access for all Kenyan residents,” SHA said.
Among those appointed are:
Rose Nakhungu Nandasaba – Assistant Director, Legal Services
Adow Osman Ahmed – Assistant Director, Registration and Compliance (County Coordination)
Moindi Kevin Omai – Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management
Douglas Odhiambo Owino and Beatrice Chelangat Kimai – Assistant Directors, Planning and Linkages
Mercy Kamene Mutua and James Leiro Letangule – Assistant Directors, Benefits Management
Kennedy Kirichu Ndegwa and Samira Swaleh – Assistant Directors, Fund Management
Irene Jepngetich Rono and Mohamed Elmi – Assistant Directors, Finance and Accounts
Callista Kendi Omwenga and Timothy Musyoka Malusi – Assistant Directors, Administration

The announcement also highlighted previous interim appointments to key departments, including:
Julius Kiamba Muli – Assistant Director, ICT
Fardosa Abdi Ali and Gilbert Mogambi Osoro – Assistant Directors, Registration and Compliance
Julia Ouko – Assistant Director, Provider Management
James Tama Musyoka, Irene Akinyi Ng’ong’a, and Samson Nthei Mutuku – Assistant Directors, Internal Audit

Dr. Abdi Mohamed, Chairperson of the Board, expressed appreciation to all staff for their dedication and support during the transition period, noting that the new appointments mark a critical step toward strengthening leadership and operational effectiveness within the Authority.
