Elections are part of a democratic exercise in states that give ordinary citizens the power to come out and vote for their leaders.
People interested in leadership also move around to connect with voters, persuading them to vote for them.
This race, in most cases, turns out to be more competitive.
However, there are leaders who at the end of day emerge victorious with big win margin against their rivals.

Samia Suluhu Hassan is the President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
On November 1, 2025, she secured a victory of 97.66% of the votes with at least 31,913,866 voters casted in her favor.
She contested through the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).
Her closest competitor had 213,414 votes, which is equivalent to 0.65%.
Raúl Castro secured the Cuban presidency in 2008 after the general elections, replacing his brother Fidel Castro, who stepped down due to health issues.
He secured victory of 99.4% of the voters.
Castro contested through the Communist Party of Cuba.
Bashar al-Assad is the President of Syria.
He took the office in 2000 after the demise of his father, Hafez al-Assad, who ruled for 30 years.
He secured 97.6% of the votes during the 2007 presidential referendum.
Paul Kagame
Paul Kagame is the president of Rwanda.
After the elections in July 2024, he was declared the winner, securing 99% of the cast votes, extending his third term in office.
He is also the leader of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) party.

Kais Saied is the President of Tunisia.
Kais secured his second term in office with 90.69% of the casted votes according to the electoral commission’s preliminary results.
He contested as an independent candidate..
Abdel Fattah al-Sisi
Abdel is the president of Egypt.
He secured 89.6% of the votes in Egypt’s 2018 presidential election, winning his second term in office.
Over 39 million voters casted in his favor.

Brice Oligui Nguema
Brice Oligui Nguema is the President of Gabon.
Interior Ministry announced that he won the elections with 90.35% of the votes cast according to the provisional results.
His closest challenger secured 3.02%.
