The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced SMS service tender for eligible bidders.
In a notice on Tuesday, November 4, KNEC said the National Treasury has exempted it from the mandatory use of the e-GP system.
According to the National Treasury, it will help KNEC facilitate procurements necessary to support the timely delivery and successful administration of the 2025 national examinations and assessments.
Therefore, KNEC has invited sealed bids for tender number “KNEC/ONT/2025-2026/05” which is tittled “Provision of SMS Short Code Services.”
This tender is open to all groups.

Interested Bidders must be registered on the Electronic Government Procurement system (e-GPS).
“Interested eligible Bidders, who MUST be duly registered on the Electronic Government Procurement system (e-GPS),” read part notice.
However, tender documents may be obtained from these websites: www.knec.ac.ke or www.supplier.treasury.go.ke, or www.tender.go.ke.

All the submissions should be made before November 12th, 2025, at 10:00 am; therefore, late bids will be rejected automatically.
Additionally, the application exercise is open to all interested bidders.
KNEC is the state body mandated to conduct national assessments and examinations at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels to certify learners.
