Ruto Reveals Three New Programs for Kenyan Youths

President William Ruto has unveiled three major youth empowerment initiatives aimed at expanding employment opportunities and nurturing innovation among Kenya’s young people.

Speaking during the launch of the NYOTA Program in Mumias Sports Complex, Kakamega County, Ruto said the new initiatives shows his administration’s commitment to transforming the country’s youth agenda from political rhetoric to tangible empowerment.

“This is not a political meeting; it is a meeting about empowering the young people of our nation,” Ruto said, explaining that the focus must shift from politics to productivity.

Ruto Names 3 Programs For The Youths

The president outlined the three programs as part of a broader youth economic inclusion plan.

  • Kazi Majūu will create opportunities for Kenyans to work abroad through formalized and protected labor agreements.
  • Kazi Mitandaoni targets the digital economy, supporting young creators, freelancers, and tech innovators to monetize online work.
  • Kazi Kwa Ground will focus on practical job creation through local projects in agriculture, construction, and community development.

“I made a commitment to remove millions of Kenyans who had been blacklisted by credit rating agencies. Today, we have cleared seven million from the CRB,” Ruto said, linking financial inclusion to his youth programs.

He added that his government has digitized over 23,000 government services to create a more efficient and accessible system for young entrepreneurs.

What Govt Plans For Non-skilled Young People

Ruto said he instructed the Minister and PS to sit down with the World Bank group to redesign the project to make sure it covers every constituency and ward in Kenya.

The project must cover young people irrespective of whether they have gone to school or not.

Additionally, the government is looking for 90,000 young people who are non-skilled and through the the program, they will be able to acquire skills.

Ruto emphasized that his government will cater for everything for the young people who will be enrolled to training.

“We are going to pay for them to be trained, we are going to pay for them to be certified, we are going to give them stipends so that they can undergo through the course because we want to lift everybody,” Ruto said.
