Fire Incident Reported in Major Residential Area in Nairobi

A residential fire has erupted in Jacaranda, Soweto area of Nairobi County, prompting emergency response teams to rush to the scene to contain the flames.

According to the Kenya Red Cross Nairobi Branch, the incident was reported at around 1:20 p.m. and efforts to manage the blaze were immediately launched.

Details about the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage were not immediately available.

Authorities have yet to confirm whether there were any casualties or injuries.

“Efforts to contain it are under way,” the organization said in a brief statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Elsewhere, on November 1st, 2025, Kenya Red Cross conducted evacuation exercise in Chesongoch area for the injured victims.

In partnership with the National and County governments they promised to assist families that needs urgent assistance.

“Following heavy overnight rains that triggered a landslide and flash floods in Chesongoch, Kenya Red Cross teams, working with the National and County Governments, are conducting air evacuations for those injured,” Kenya Red Cross said.

Additionally, Kenya Red Cross invited the public to learn how they can save life of others.
