The National Police Service (NPS) has assured the public and all stakeholders that they have prepared fully to provide adequate security before, during, and after the upcoming by-elections.
NPS is designed to provide safety and security to people and protect the properties.
In a press release dated November 13, 2025, NPS said the plan to provide security has been coordinated closely with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Through this collaboration, the electoral process will be peaceful, free, and fair.
“In line with our constitutional mandate to ensure the safety and security of all persons and property, we have developed a robust, multi-faceted security plan. This plan has been coordinated closely with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to facilitate a peaceful, free, fair, and credible electoral process,” read part notice.
The unit has urged political candidates, their supporters, and agents to run their campaigns peacefully and adhere to the rule of law.
They condemned all forms of violence, incitement, and destruction of property and vowed to deal with the culprits as per the law.

The public should not fear anything and should come out in large numbers to vote on election day.
They should also ignore rumors circulating that there are attempts to incite violence or spread alarmist information.
Additionally, NPS urged the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through our toll-free emergency hotlines: 999, 911, 112, or anonymously via #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000.
