Governor Breaks Silence After Online Backlash on His Post

Meru Governor Mutuma M’Ethingia has addressed the issue, on which his social media account posted a quote that gained attention from both local and international audiences.

In a public notice issued on November 14, Mutuma said his page experienced some technical issues that led to unusual engagement from non-local accounts.

He added that those accounts had limited access to local viewers.

“We are currently addressing a technical issue affecting this page (Hon. Rev Mutuma M’Ethingia), including unusual engagement from non-local accounts, which has limited visibility among our intended audience,” Mutuma wrote on his official Facebook page.

What Mutuma Said About Restoring the Page.

The governor urged the public to remain calm as he has recruited a team that is working tirelessly to restore normal operations of the page.

He added that they are also trying to improve the security of the page to ensure accurate and reliable information is consumed.

“Our team is actively working to restore normal operations and ensure secure, reliable communication,” the governor said.

He added, “We appreciate your patience and continued support as maintenance continues.”

What the Governor Posted on His Page

Mutuma said his administration is committed to nurturing every child and young person in Meru, stating that education is the foundation of prosperity.

“Today, I am pleased to report that Meru County has made great progress in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and Vocational Training. We now have 779 public ECDE centres serving over 59,000 children under the care of 1,693 dedicated teachers. These centres are equipped with modern classrooms, child-friendly furniture, and feeding programs reaching 60,000 learners — ensuring our young ones grow healthy, happy, and ready to learn,” read part notice of the post.

Additionally, the county government is implementing the ECDE Scheme of Service to improve teachers’ welfare and strengthen early learning outcomes.

How Non-locals’ Accounts Reacted

The governor’s post was designed for residents of Meru; however, more reactions and comments have come from Thailand.

One Facebook account user, Hương Hường, commended the good job of the Meru Governor in uplifting ECDE.

“ECDE in Meru strengthened under Governor Mutuma’s leadership,” he said.

Phạm Bích Thành, another Facebook use,r said the governor has invested in the future of Meru’s children.

“Governor Mutuma invests in the future of Meru’s children,” she said.

Additionally, Dũng Dũng said Meru strengthens childhood education infrastructure.
