The National Police Service (NPS), in collaboration with various government and private agencies, partnered with the Notewise Music Hub to use music as a platform to promote road safety among children.

The children’s music recital took place on November,16,2025, in The Nairobi Hospital Amphitheatre, under the theme,”Celebrating Growth in Music and Creativity for Road Safety.”

The well-attended concert brought together various stakeholders who included: the Ministry of Roads and Transport, the Department of Roads, the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA), and the Traffic Department of the National Police Service.

According to organizers, the collaborative action highlights the increased role of the application of creative arts to deliver essential safety messages to young people.

“This initiative is about educating children in a way that is engaging and memorable,” a coordinator from Notewise Music Hub clarified.

Police Provide Key Safety Lessons

Boniface Otieno, SSP, represented Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja at the event, where he emphasized the role of children in shaping safer communities.

Mr. Otieno addressed the young participants during the recital and said,

“Road safety begins with each one of us. Whether you are walking to school or riding in a vehicle, you must always stay alert and comply with safety regulations.”

He also addressed issues surrounding petty crimes, community policing, and the effects of crime on society.

“We want you to understand that every action has an impact.

By choosing to do the right thing, you help make your community safer,” he added.

A Meaningful Experience

The interactive safety sessions, together with the vibrant performance, provided an avenue that could be described by parents, children, and the officials as an educational and motivating platform.

The organizers pointed out that the event was in time before the festive season, when road travel traditionally increases across the country.

“As families prepare to travel for the holidays, we hope that the lessons discussed here will save lives,” said an NTSA representative.
