A 27-year-old man has sought President William Ruto’s intervention after being denied the chance to be recruited as a police officer due to his height.

According to him, he has all what is needed to join the police department, but he was blocked because he is short.

The National Police Service (NPS) conducted police recruitment on November 17th, 2025, across the country.

The man has been hunting job for a long period of time, but he has always been denied the chance multiple times.

“Mimi naomba kazi, Mimi ndo nanyimwa kwani Mimi ni nani,” he fumed, which translates: (I am asking for a job, yet I am the one being denied — so who am I)?

What Made The Man Join NYS

After finishing Secondary School, the man aspired to join the police service but was denied a chance.

This forced him to join the National Youth Service (NYS) to increase his chances of being recruited for the next exercise.

Even after finishing training and other programs like nation building at NYS, he is still blocked a step that made him furious.

“Mimi nafanya kazi kila siku, mlininyima kazi nikaenda NYS, sasa nimeenda NYS tena mnaninyima kazi kwani mimi ndo sifai kwa kazi,” said the man, which translates (I work every day, you refused to give me a job, so I went to NYS, now I have finished NYS and again you refuse to give me a job — is it that I am the one who is not fit for the job).

It doesn’t have to be in the police, and I can even join the police and become your personal guard).
