The Tanzanian security apparatus has issued a public warning following heightened tensions triggered by a recent CNN exposé that spotlighted concerns around security and governance in the country.

In a formal statement released on November 21, 2025, from the Police Headquarters in Dodoma, authorities said, “The Police Force continues to closely monitor the security situation in the country and take action against any violation of the country’s laws.”

The notice came amid growing public debate surrounding the documentary, which raised questions about internal operations within Tanzania’s security sector.

According to the police, “there have been various groups and individuals who have continued to come forward and issue statements that indicate a breach of peace and build hatred among the community.”

Authorities stated that such actions are unlawful and would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The statement made clear that the Police Force would act decisively, warning that “it will not hesitate to take action against such matters with soft language and other strong language that is inciting.”

The statement further stressed that the country is currently undergoing a critical phase of reconciliation, calling for restraint from all sectors of the public.

The government maintains that stability is vital to safeguarding Tanzania’s social and economic progress.

The police noted that “all statements and actions aimed at inciting hatred and violence” would be met with firm enforcement measures.

The statement noted that the nation’s peace is non-negotiable, especially at a time when economic development remains a national priority.

The warning explained that the consequences of unrest would be felt across all aspects of society.

As the statement cautioned, “if violence occurs, every one of us will be affected, especially economically, socially, and in terms of security.”
