Kenya Power Releases List of Counties Facing Blackouts Today

Kenya Power has issued a notice informing its customers in parts of Nandi, Kisii and Nyeri counties of scheduled power interruptions on Monday, November 24, 2025, to allow for planned maintenance works.

The affected areas will be experiencing an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

North Rift Region- Nandi County.

The maintenance exercise will impact the residents and businesses in Emrok.

Areas to experience interruptions include Emrok Tea Factory, Kamalei Primary School, and adjacent customers.

South Nyanza Region- Kisii County.

The proposed outage will affect Botori Market and a section of Gesero in Kisii County.

The affected areas are the Oigara, Botori Market, Botori Secondary, Gesero Secondary, Iyabe Hospital, Msiesi, Sigisi, Mwata and Erina Market, Nyachenge Market, St. Reuben school ,and surrounding customers.

Mt. Kenya Region – Nyeri County

Two major zones in Nyeri County will undergo maintenance:

  • Ragati Tea Factory Area: This comprises Ragati Tea factory, Gatei TBC, Gatei market, Ragati forest station, Safaricom and Airtel boosters, and consumers around it.
  • Kanyagia Market Area: The outage will affect Kanyagia Market, Kieni Dairy, Demka Dairy, Solio Ranch, Solio Water Pump, Solio Lodge, Solio Cattle Dip, Solio Village, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power Advisory

Kenya Power has advised its customers within the listed regions to plan accordingly and has directed them to visit the advance notice link provided on X to get updated and any other details

Kenya Power says, “the planned outage is necessary to facilitate routine network improvement works, including line refurbishment, system strengthening, and replacing aging infrastructure to enhance reliability and minimize unplanned power interruptions for customers in the affected regions.”
