Nation Media Group Journalist Exits After SHA Expose’s

Nation Media Group (NMG) reporter Leon Lidigu has officially announced his departure from the media house, ending a five-year tenure marked by award-winning journalism as well as several high-profile investigations, such as the recent SHA expose that sparked national debate.

Lidigu, in a heartfelt farewell note to colleagues, described his time at NMG as a transformative experience that has had an impact on his career and personal growth.

“For the last 5 years, it has been nothing but a massive honor to learn from you, work with you, and grow,” he wrote.

He expressed deep gratitude for the opportunities and platforms he has been given, and that his experience at the media house opened doors to both regional and global recognition.

“I will always be eternally grateful for the opportunities and lessons that have seen me win many local, regional, and global awards apart from appointments to regional boards.”

Recognizes Support from Nation Media Group.

Lidigu has announced that today, November 25, 2025, would be his last day in the Nation Media Group, thanking the organisation for believing in his abilities from the very beginning.

“For this, I am so thankful to Nation Media Group. I therefore wish to humbly let you know that today will be my last working day.”

Tribute to Mentors

The journalist also gave a heartfelt tribute to several mentors who had a critical influence on his growth as a journalist.

He singled out senior editors Alex Ndegwa, Harry Misiko, and Jane Njoroge for taking him under their wing when he was a freshman on campus.

He said, “They took me in when I left campus, believed in me, and held my hand all the way.”

Lidigu credited their guidance and unwavering support for making him a better journalist.

“Their support, advice, words of wisdom, and impeccable love for what we do have hugely contributed to making me a better budding reporter.”

A Prayerful Goodbye

He concluded his message with a prayer and a promise to reunite with his colleagues in the future.

“May God always favour you for me. Regards and see you on the other side.”
