Morara Kebaso has come out and shed light on why he can’t run for a Member of Parliament (MP) seat in Kenya.
In a statement written on his X official account on November 26, 2025, he said those telling him to run for MP are the problem Kenya is currently in.
According to him, Kenyan MPs are only good at giving speeches for TikTok sound bites.
“The only thing a good MP can do is to give good speeches for TikTok sound bites,” said Kebaso.
Morara said all the activities in Parliament are put to a vote, and the majority of MPs vote along party lines.
“All issues in parliament, including the appointment of corrupt individuals, the budget, or impeachment, are put to a vote. The majority of MPs vote along party lines. Those parties are tribal corporations ruled by a kingpin/ party leader who decides where they will vote depending on how much money or tenders those affected are offering,” said Morara.
He added, “If you are Babu Owino and you want to bring a law to regulate microfinance and shylock bullies, those institutions will meet and raise 30 million to give to the speaker of the house or the chairman of the relevant committee to hold back the legislation or for members to vote against it.”

According to Kebaso, the majority law lawmakers use millions of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to buy water tanks, put murram on a road, build a police post, paint some old classrooms, buy a school bus, and give a bursary of 5k to students.
He said that though it is good work, but does not align with his leadership style, and he questioned the need for MPs to write their names after every project like “FUNDED BY CDF HON MORARA KEBASO.”
“My mission is to alleviate poverty by stopping grand corruption and recovering trillions of Kenyan money stolen over the years. By opening opportunities for startups to access capital. Industrialization of the country to provide well-paying jobs,” Kebaso explained.
He said MPs run for office with a money mindset as a motivation, angling for millions to buy houses and cars.
Furthermore, MPs want a 1 million monthly salary and access to tenders, and Morara opposes this, stating that money should not be a motivation for leadership.
“I also don’t believe that by being a politician I will make more money. My research shows that businessmen make much more money than politicians. No matter how much an African politician steals, catching up with Aliko Dangote or Elon Musk, who make millions every minute, every hour, every day, is a dream,” he said.

Kebaso Declares His Stance
Kebaso said nothing he cannot change anything in Kenya as an MP, and therefore he doesn’t belong there.
“The long and short of this story is this. I don’t believe there is anything I can change in Kenya as an MP. But I believe that if the youth form their own party and raise more than 100 MPs, they can collectively change something. That is if the party can remain true to its mission and purpose,” he declared.
