Ruto Breaks Silence on Kariobangi North PCEA Church Chaos

President William Ruto has directed Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to punish all individuals behind the chaos at Kariobangi North PCEA Church on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Speaking during the Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs’ Graduation, Ruto said the government will not allow certain individuals to use the youth to cause chaos.

Ruto stated that he had already directed IG Kanja to conduct investigations and arrest all the individuals behind such acts.

“Tumekubaliana kwamba sisi ni nchi ambayo tunafuata sheria. Wale ambao wanatumia vijana, kama wahuni, kuleta fujo, kupiganisha wananchi, au kusababisha maafa, hawa ni watu ambao hatuwezi kukubali,” Ruto said.

This loosely translates to “Those who are using the youth to cause chaos, bring fights between Kenyans, and result in deaths. These are people we will not allow. I have told the Police IG that all these people must the law so that we can stop such insecurity incidents.”

Murkomen on Kariobangi North PCEA Church Incident

Speaking during the same event, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen warned that the government will not condone incidents like the one at Kariobangi North PCEA Church.

He said the government will fight and eradicate the use of goons, adding that Ruto had directed Kanja to ensure those who cause the chaos are arrested.

“What we saw yesterday in Nairobi cannot be condoned, and I believe that your excellency (President Ruto), you will get results to ensure that those who are behind carrying goons to meetings to paint the security sector in a bad light shall face the law,” Murkomen said.

Ruto on Jukwaa la Usalama

Ruto also revealed one advice he gave Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen when he picked him to take over the docket.

He said Murkomen asked him about the government’s expectation of the Interior Ministry.

The President said he asked Murkomen to listen to the people at the grassroots level.

“When I trusted the responsibility of managing the Interior docket, and he asked me what my expectations are, I asked him to go and listen to the people at the grassroots. To go and engage the chiefs, their assistants, the nyumba kumi people, and the citizens,” Ruto said.

Ruto said he is delighted that Murkomen implemented the Jukwaa la Usalama meeting across the country to implement his idea.

He stated that the meeting yielded results and provided the government with the necessary information to improve the security sector.

“I am very happy with the outcome of that engagement because it truly reflects the bottom-up up to security and gives us the needed information that guides our formulation of the undertaking of security operations, governance interventions, and policy coordination in government,” he said.
